At our church, we believe life is a long-term mission trip, and every day is a short-term mission opportunity. God's word makes it clear that we are called to share the love of Christ with people we see every day, whether  in our local community, or around the world. And this mission not only impacts those we serve, but it is a pathway to spiritual transformation in our own lives.

There are so many ways to serve locally through Porterfield Church, as well as getting involved in global efforts to spread the Gospel of Christ. Whether you feel called to help in kids, lead a group, or be a part of the weekend experience, we want to empower you to do the work God has called you to. Get involved today!

Here are some ways to serve locally:

The Chancel Choir, open to any youth and adult singers, is the largest ensemble in our ministry and sings in worship every Sunday, as well as for special services such as Christmas Eve and Easter services. In addition to Sunday service choral music, the Choir learns and presents two major works for choir and orchestra each year during Advent and Lent. The Chancel Choir is conducted by Dr. Marc Boensel.

Contemporary Worship Arts

Our Contemporary Worship band offers the best of praise and worship that bridges the gap between all generations, cultures, and styles of worship. The Media Support Team is a behind the scenes team that helps to make sure that every person in attendance has an uninterrupted experience during worship. Providing support for Sound, Lighting, and Video, they are the backbone of our weekend contemporary worship experience. Weekly rehearsals are held at 7:30 pm in the Ministry Center and open to those interested in seeing what goes on behind the scenes for our contemporary service. Volunteers are always needed and welcome.

  • Auditions are required for the band and vocalists
  • No audition or experience needed to volunteer with our Media Team
